VAT exemption is available to customers in the UK who wear wigs and hairpieces for ‘necessity reasons’.  These apply to customers who require wigs or hairpieces due to alopecia, hair loss as a result of chemotherapy treatment or any other medical condition that causes hair loss, where a GP confirms in writing that the customer is a ‘necessity wearer’.

If you are in any doubt as to whether you are eligible to receive goods or services zero-rated for VAT you should consult Notice 701/7 VAT reliefs for disabled people at www.hmrc.gov.uk or by contacting the VAT Disabled Reliefs Helpline on 0300 123 1073, before signing the declaration below prior to ordering. There are penalties for making false declarations.

Wildflower is not responsible for advising which hair loss conditions/ persons qualify for VAT exemption. Declaring that you are VAT exempt is a personal declaration to HMRC and HMRC have the right to investigate any declaration.

If any of the above applies to you, you are entitled to receive the VAT off the cost of your wig at the time of purchase.

Prices are shown without VAT on the product page, and 20% VAT will be automatically added at the checkout for UK residents. If you are exempt from UK VAT please fill out, sign and return the document linked below.

VAT DECLARATION EXEMPTION FORM

When you click on the form link above, you will be asked to enter your email address. The form will then be emailed to you to complete. Once you have filled out the form, please allow 1 working day for your exemption to be processed, I do this by manually adding your details to a customer profile and removing the ability for tax to be charged. I will confirm when this process is completed via email. Then, you can add the item to your cart and checkout, and no VAT will be added at the checkout.

Please ensure you order with the same name, email address, and shipping address as you write on the form, as your exemption is linked to your personal details.

If you are ordering internationally, (outside UK) VAT will not be added at the checkout, but VAT may be charged by your inbound country's customs.
