Here are a few things that will make your life much easier when owning a hairpiece!
1) A canvas head
This is a mannequin head made from cotton canvas, you can pin your topper into the head (using T pins through the wefting only) which makes drying and styling ten times easier than trying to do it on your own head. It can make all the difference to how your piece will look.
Canvas heads sometimes come with table champs, but I do find that these are very flimsy and don't grip the table very well. Good quality tripod stands can be quite expensive, but in this case it's definitely buy cheap- buy twice. The cheaper stands tend to have flimsy legs and are prone to swaying and falling over so a quality one will be very sturdy and serve you well for years!

2) A plastic hair stand
A plastic hair stand (that you can buy for around £2 from places like ebay) are useful to leave your piece to dry on and also store on when not being worn. They can be taken apart so are ideal for traveling. I like to leave my toppers sitting on a hair stand on top of a towel to dry overnight after washing. Plastic hair stands are not meant to be used as styling hair stands.

3) A heat styling tool
Heat styling tools (hair straightener and curler) are amazing for toppers and wigs! Your piece will air dry straight with a light wave, so heat tools are essential if you want to create curls or straighten your piece. Typically wigs and toppers will dry with a slight fluffiness and heat styling will allow you to keep your piece feeling silky and smooth. I typically heat style my piece every few days to once a week. Ensure you use a heat protection spray and use a tool that you're able to adjust the temperature of. Use a maximum temperature of 180 degrees C.
