VAT exemption is available to customers in the UK who wear wigs and hairpieces for ‘necessity reasons’.  These apply to customers who require wigs or hairpieces due to alopecia, hair loss as a result of chemotherapy treatment or any other medical condition that causes hair loss, where a GP confirms in writing that the customer is a ‘necessity wearer’.

Wildflower ships from the UK. Royal Mail Special Delivery shipping is free for all UK orders. Please allow 1 to 3 business days for your order to be processed, packaged, and shipped.

After shipping, delivery is typically the next working day before 1pm.

Europe

Shipping to most European countries is £55. This price may be converted to your local currency at checkout. All orders are tracked, signed for, and insured via Parcelforce. Delivery usually takes 1 to 2 weeks.

Please note that Wildflower does not currently ship to Italy or Spain, sorry!

Rest of the World

Shipping costs range from £80 to £125, depending on your location. Prices may be converted to your local currency at checkout. All orders are tracked, signed for, and insured. Delivery typically takes 1 to 2 weeks.

For an exact shipping quote, just add your delivery address to the checkout and this will be generated for you.

Returns and Exchanges for In Stock Items

If you would like to return an in stock item, please email wildflowerhair1@gmail.com within 14 days of delivery. Returned items must be shipped back within this period for a full refund, minus shipping costs.

Exchanges for another in stock item are also possible. I can hold the replacement for you and ship it once your return is received. Refunds can also be left as store credit, which does not expire.

Custom and Made to Order Items

Made to order or custom pieces are not eligible for a refund. We are happy to work with you to adjust your piece so you are satisfied. If an in stock piece was custom cut before shipping, it is not eligible for return or refund.

Returning Your Piece

To qualify for a refund, the piece must be unaltered and in the same condition as received. This includes the box and all components. The following are not allowed: wearing the piece outside, washing, cutting, heat styling, changing the part, applying products, or dyeing.

For lace front pieces, do not cut the lace until you are certain you are keeping the piece. Altering the base, clips, or combs will also void the refund. Please return the piece in its protective dust bag and do not fold the base.

Shipping Your Return

Return postage is the customer’s responsibility. Use a trackable service and consider insuring the item. For international returns, mark the customs declaration as returned goods or return to sender to avoid customs fees.

Providing tracking details helps speed up your refund. Once your return arrives, please allow three working days for processing. Refunds may take five to fifteen business days to reach your account, depending on your country and card processor.

Frequency of Washing

How often you wash your piece depends on how frequently you wear it. For everyday use, wash roughly every 3 weeks. This may vary depending on your climate, but you can usually tell when your piece needs a wash and some TLC.

Step 1: Shampoo

• Use lukewarm water and a sulfate free shampoo.
  
• Apply gently and work through the hair, avoid scrubbing.
  
• Rinse thoroughly, moving the hair gently for a few minutes until all shampoo is removed, as leftover product can leave greasy build up.
  
• Cap care: The inside of the cap can be lightly washed with the same shampoo if needed.
  

Step 2: Conditioning

• Always condition after washing to replenish moisture that wigs and toppers do not receive naturally from the scalp.
  
• Apply conditioner only to the mids and ends. Avoid the knots on silk or lace tops and the wefted cap, as product here can loosen knots and cause shedding. This is key for long-lasting wear.
  
• For extra hydration, leave conditioner in the hair (outside of water) for 1–4 hours before rinsing thoroughly.
  
• For wigs: Blow-dry the inside cap before leaving to air dry to prevent stretching.
  

Everyday Care

• Apply a drop of lightweight hair oil to the mids and ends every few days to maintain hydration and prevent dryness. For blonde pieces, choose a colorless oil.
  
• When heat styling, use a low setting (180°C or under) and a heat protection spray.
  
• Lightly brush daily to avoid tangling and breakage.
  
• Avoid swimming, showering, or sleeping in your topper or wig to prolong its life and keep it in optimal condition.
  

Colouring

• If you want to alter the color, it’s best to work with a professional stylist experienced with alternative hair.
  
• Virgin colours can be lightened or darkened, but always test a strand first, as results vary.
  
• Processed colours can be darkened, but lightening is generally not recommended. Strand testing is always advisable.
